Something that I have been obsessed with lately is Dalgona Coffee. It has such a strong flavor and gives you a great perk of energy. My Dalgona Coffee recipe has been a saving grace as of late.

It is perfect for the early morning start with some delicious Everything Bagel Bites or an afternoon pick-me-up paired with some Pizza Roll-Ups. No matter what your situation is, some delicious energy to get you through the day is always something to look forward to.

When first making the recipe, I struggled to get it just right. Let me tell you, I went through a lot of instant coffee to get this recipe perfect.

However, once I found that sweet spot, I was pretty thrilled since it meant I could enjoy some keto dalgona coffee with zero guilt! Now, it’s your turn to enjoy it! Go make some and enjoy every swallow - you deserve it!

How to Make Dalgona Coffee

  1. Combine ingredients - Add sugar coffee and water into a bowl and give a slight stir.
  2. Froth the milk - With a whisk or a milk frother, bring the milk to a nice and thick consistency.
  3. Prepare and drink - Pour your milk into a glass and then add the coffee mixture on top. Froth the mix one more time, then serve and enjoy!

Tips and Variations

  • Storage - Store in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 2 days. I prefer to drink this right after I make it instead of store it. For better results, I store the keto dalgona coffee whip in a container on its own, then add it to the almond milk when I’m ready to use it.
  • Reheating - You shouldn't need to heat this up, even if you store it in the fridge. It’s meant to be served chilled.
  • Dalgona coffee without instant coffee? - I have never made it without instant coffee before. However, I’ve heard you can simply use normal ground coffee and it will do the trick. Let me know if you end up trying it!
  • Use an electric mixer - I used a milk frother and an electric mixer to make this keto dalgona coffee. The mixer was much faster and whipped it up a lot better than the frother or by hand. It saves a lot of time, just trust me on this one.
  • Why don’t I have as much whip as other photos I’ve seen? - The amount of whip you see in my photos is the real amount you’ll get from a normal recipe. Other photos with a tall amount of whip isn’t accurate. They have made about 3 times the amount of whip that goes into a normal cup of dalgona coffee, for picture’s sake. If you made that much whip for that amount of milk, it would be far too strong to drink. For me, at least.

Common Questions About Dalgona Coffee

Is Dalgona Coffee Good?

Dalgona has such a unique flavor profile. Some people may find it to be quite strong compared to coffee and it has a much more prominent bitterness to it.

However, there are other ingredients you can add to dalgona coffee to help level out some of those other flavors. There are more people who like it than dislike it, but it comes down to each person and their preferences.

If you like strong coffee, you’re in for a treat. If you don’t, this might not be the coffee for you. Give it a try and see what you think!

Dalgona Coffee is a delicious, creamy beverage that has become quite popular. It came to popularity in South Korea and quickly spread across the globe. The name “dalgona” actually comes from a candy popular in South Korea, which is known for its soft and spongy texture.

You need to make sure and stir the whip into the milk once they’re combined, before consuming. It’s strong when mixed together, much less when not mixing it, whew!
