Step-by-step guide:

  1. First step is to combine the almond flour, sugar-free sweet maple syrup, cooked bacon pieces, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Shape the mixture into 10 equally sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Freeze the bites for at least 4 hours.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the coconut oil and chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip each chilled bite halfway into the melted chocolate, then place it back on the parchment paper.
  6. Refrigerate until the chocolate sets.

  • Crispy Bacon = Maximum Flavor: Achieve that perfect bacon crunch for your Low Carb Maple Bacon Bites! Choose thick-cut bacon and get it nice and crispy the way you like it. Air fry it for speedy results, bake it in the oven (line your baking pan with aluminum foil for easy cleanup), or cook it in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess bacon grease on paper towels before crumbling.
  • Make your bites even more fun by baking them in different pans! Use a donut pan or a mini muffin pan for playful shapes. A regular baking sheet also works beautifully, just ensure they are in a single layer for even baking.
  • To keep your Low Carb Maple Bacon Bites at their best, store them in the refrigerator for up to a week. Place them in an airtight container lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture. Let them come to room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving.

  • Can I use regular maple syrup? Unfortunately, no. Regular maple syrup is loaded with sugar, which would derail your keto goals. Opt for a high-quality sugar-free maple syrup like Lakanto or another trusted brand. You can usually find them at your local grocery store.
  • Is there a substitute for almond flour? Absolutely! Coconut flour is a good alternative, but because it absorbs moisture differently, you may need to tweak the recipe. Start with less coconut flour and gradually add more as needed until you get the right consistency.
  • Do the bites absolutely need to be frozen? While not strictly mandatory, freezing the bites for at least 4 hours has a few advantages:
    • Easy Dipping: Frozen bites are much firmer, giving you better control when dipping them in the melted chocolate.
    • Cleaner Results: Less chance of the filling getting too soft and messy during the dipping process.
    • Flavor Boost: Cold bites seem to make the sweet maple and smoky bacon flavors even more pronounced in this maple bacon recipe.

These Low Carb Maple Bacon Bites are the perfect example of how delicious the keto diet can be. They're a fantastic way to satisfy your cravings without sacrificing your goals and using simple ingredients. Give them a try, and I bet they'll become a perfect snack for you too!
