If you need a delicious and easy snack that’s also healthy, you’re going to love these Keto Cheez-Its.
Made with thick squares of pepper jack cheese and cooked to perfection, you couldn’t find an easier recipe. Cost effective and perfect for all ages!
I am going to be honest with you all, my family and I are huge snackers. We love our sweets and salts. The problem with most snacks lies in how expensive they are and how unhealthy they can be.
This is where I introduce my Keto Pepper Jack Cheez-Its. These are so easy to make and are a wonderful snack to munch on any time of the day, much like my Keto Nacho Chips and Cauliflower Bites. Not to mention, much cheaper to make large batches of.
The kids cannot get enough of them and neither can I; they are simply delicious! With only a few ingredients and just a couple minutes of your time, you’ll have the perfect keto snack.
Having healthy snacks like this one is what helps me stay on track with a healthy lifestyle. Plus, it kills my cravings without derailing my efforts, which is the biggest plus in my book.
You’re just going to love how easy and satisfying these are!
How to Make Keto Cheez-Its
- Cut the cheese - Stack three pieces of pepper jack cheese on top of each other and cut them into four squares. Then, punch a whole in the cheese squares with a straw.
- Prep the baking sheet - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the cheese squares evenly spaced on the sheet.
- Bake - Bake in the oven at 300 degrees for twelve minutes or until nice and crispy. Cool and enjoy!
Tips and Variations
- Storage - Store in an airtight bag or container in a cool, dry area like the pantry. You can place these in the fridge if desired, but I have found they are hard to chew afterwards. I do not recommend freezing these homemade cheez-its.
- Reheating - If your keto homemade cheez-its need to be heated, you can toss them in the microwave for a few seconds. However, you shouldn’t have to heat this snack up.
- Use other cheeses - If you aren’t a fan of pepper jack, you can use other cheeses as well. As long as they are a harder cheese and come in large slices, they should turn out the same.
- The cheese will shrink - It’s important to note that no matter what cheese you choose, it will shrink down in size. So, don’t cut your squares too small or you’ll end up with some mini cheez-its.
- Add seasonings - If you want to give your snack an added flavor, you can always add seasonings before you bake them. For example, cajun seasoning or Italian seasoning would be delicious.
- Use a dipping sauce - If you want to make these keto crackers even better, you can dip them in a sauce. I like using a buffalo or hot sauce for mine.
Common Questions About Keto Cheez-Its
Are Cheez Its Junk Food?
Store bought Cheez-Its and similar products are on the unhealthy side of the snacking world. They contain high amounts of sodium, carbs, and countless other ingredients that are harsh on your body.
The great thing about my Keto Cheez-It recipe is that it’s no nonsense and very healthy. It contains one ingredient and you don’t have to worry about working out extra to make up for enjoying it.
Is It Cheez Its or Cheez It?
This is actually a pretty funny question. For all the times I have had to type out Cheez-It, (which is what it is officially branded as) I myself had to give this a Google. However, when speaking of the snack in the plural form it is appropriate to put an “s” on the end of the word.
The name has actually been featured as an item on the list of things under the “Mandela Effect.” You’ll want to give that one a search.
