Tips and Variations

  • Storage - Place in a pitcher or sealed beverage container and store in the fridge for up to 4 days. This can be frozen in the same manner, but it won’t taste quite as good when thawed and may be more watered down.
  • Reheating - If frozen, you’ll need to let it thaw and return to liquid form on its own. If heated, it will take more ice to cool it down to an appropriate temperature. When adding ice, it will water it down and weaken the flavor of the all natural strawberry lemonade.
  • Use juice instead - If you don’t have the ability to juice your own strawberries and lemons, you can make this fresh strawberry lemonade by using juice. To make it more natural, try going for juices that aren’t from concentrate. 100% juice without any extra ingredients is the best choice.
  • Sweetener options - If you don’t like or use a white granulated sweetener substitute, you can easily use other options. I wouldn’t suggest something like a powdered sugar or brown sugar substitute for this beverage. However, liquid Stevia or something similar would work great.
  • Can I use a handheld juicer? - You can if you like, but it might take more lemons and strawberries to reach the amount of juice you need to make this strawberry lemonade. Electric juicers get the most juice out of your fruits and it’s impossible to get that much juice from a handheld juicer.

Common Questions About Keto Strawberry Lemonade

Is Lemonade OK on Keto?

Lemonade is okay with Keto as long as you replace the sugar with a keto-friendly substitute. There are a few to choose from, so find the one you like best. Stevia is one of the most popular sweeteners for a keto diet.

However, if you’re buying lemonade from the store and not making it, there’s a pretty good chance you won’t be able to have it while following a keto lifestyle. Give a quick check under the ingredients to ensure it’s keto-friendly before consuming.

How Much Sugar is in Strawberry Lemonade?

The sugar content can vary from batch to batch. There are natural sugars in strawberries and lemons already, but it’s the good kind. Store bought will vary wildly, but almost always have a high sugar content.

With homemade, you can be the one to decide how much sugar you add. With this strawberry lemonade recipe, a keto-friendly sugar is used making it a healthy drink choice!
